A day in the life of an IBM Z Systems Programmer (with focus on data quality)

This presentation will share how data quality aspects are incorporated into the IBM Z System Programming job role.  The main topics will include:

  • What is a zSysProg?
  • Challenges to the zSysProg
  • How Data Quality plays a role in the zSysProg’s life
  • Improving your zSysProg life with Data Quality practices

Chris Van Wagner is a Z Systems Programmer at the IBM Garage for Systems. The team builds custom environments on IBM Z mainframes for various customer proof-of-concept and benchmark missions.  Chris has been a zSysProg for five years and with IBM for 19 years.  He has extensive knowledge with the z/OS platform. Chris is a Z advocate, has a teacher’s spirit, and hopes to enable others to use the platform in simple, easy, and meaningful ways.  Chris enjoys documenting complicated tasks into easy-to-follow guides for others to follow.
