Glenn Tanzman, Former Army Captain and ASQ Mid-Hudson Section Officer
Glenn Tanzman shares his experience on Honor Flight, a program of volunteers that takes aging veterans to Washington DC to visit the monuments that were erected in their honor. It was originally started to take WWII vets to see the memorial built in their honor in 2004. Starting with 7 small planes from Ohio taking 11 vets to DC, Honor Flight has grown to taking 22,000 vets per year. The Hudson Valley Honor Flight operates 2 flights of 90 vets per year and 2 more from Westchester Airport.
Glenn will share his experiences on Mission #29 and what it meant to him and the other veterans who made the trip. With Veterans Day approaching, it is important that we remember the sacrifices our veterans made on our behalf.
Glenn served in the Army from 1970-1972 first as a combat engineer officer and then as an infantry Company Commander. During his tour of duty in Vietnam he was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star Medals. He was Honorably Discharged in December 1972 with the rank of Captain. Glenn is very active in groups supporting veterans, like the American Legion, where he was Commander of Post 1302 for 5 years.
Glenn Tanzman is the principal of Tanzco Management Consulting LLC, which provides training and consulting in Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, QMS, REACH, RoHS and Supply Chain Management. Glenn was an ISO 9001/ISO 14001 Certified Lead Auditor.
Glenn has an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a BS in Chemistry from CCNY. He is a Certified Manufacturing Engineer from SME and a CPIM from APICS.
