A self-professed Disney fan and Lean facilitator, Christine Chiu strives to apply Disney’s mantra to her work at Hartford Healthcare each and every day. With a more than 20- year background in clinical radiology, her early work included extensive experience in both CAT scan and mammography. Chiu later shifted her focus towards Instructional Design and IT, accepting a role that allowed her to develop curriculum for Inpatient Providers. This position has only furthered her passion for process improvement and innovation, leading to her most recent role as a Lean facilitator (a position she has held for the past two years). In that capacity, she helps both clinical and non-clinical teams throughout the Hartford HealthCare system and its affiliates with process improvement, with particular emphasis on patient satisfaction and an improvement of care outcomes. Throughout the COVID pandemic, Chiu has brought her experience and passion to bear in helping her region navigate a variety of projects and initiatives; these include screening, forward facing triage, drive-up testing, surveillance testing and management and design of vaccine clinics — including the region’s largest clinic, at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

In what Chiu describes as a series of wonderful left turns in her career, she brings insight from her career origins as a Police Officer, which she considers the basis of her passion for the power of communication, conflict mediation, and strong observational skills.

Christine holds a BS in Healthcare Administration, as well as ARRT certifications in radiography, mammography, and computed tomography. She is currently continuing graduate studies in Organizational Effectiveness and Leadership as well as coursework in Project Management.
