Advancing Innovation and Inclusivity through Culture and Visual Management Boards

This presentation will demonstrate how Hartford HealthCare uses their Operating Model and culture of continuous improvement to engage all colleagues to share ideas that can improve patient experience and safety as well as colleague experience and engagement. Hartford HealthCare uses daily management boards to engage colleagues from the entire organization to share ideas and promote innovation. This model has been used to address challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Great Resignation. By promoting and encouraging the visual management board, culture, and respect for people, innovative ideas, processes, and thinking are developed.

My name is Claudia Christina Martinez, and I am excited to be presenting at the April 20th ASQ Member meeting. I am currently the Administrative Fellow for the Lean Office at Hartford HealthCare. In my role, I have the opportunity to support and guide continuous improvement projects, facilitate training, and engage leaders to assist with annual improvement priorities.
Claudia has a master’s degree in Public Health from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Claudia is also a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
